Skechers Goga Max sandals for girls - the perfect sandal for the active girl

Being a parent for 3 kids, we go through a lot of shoes.  At their age, it's less about fashion and more about how well the shoes hold up in their daily activities.

Flip-flops don't work.  They flip-flop back and forth.  We had a couple of other sandals where the sole just ripped apart from the rest of the sandal since my middle child ran around with it too much.

For water play, sandals need to be at least water resistant.  That rules out a lot of leather sandals.

This is the Skechers Gogamax.  It is called the Endurance on the box, but I can't find a reference to that name on the web.  It is this one here:   https://www.amazon.com/Skechers-Girls-400-Radiance-Sandals/dp/B078P1MNFK.

First, the Goga Max is super comfortable!  It is like stepping on a yoga mat with barefeet except that the yoga mat moves with your feet.  There is also the adjustable straps.  This is good because not all feet are the same shape.  For our 6 year old, her foot is changing from a toddler foot to that of a child's foot and her arches are forming.

Mind you, the yoga max isn't waterproof, like some sandals with the hard insoles.  Water glides off if you pour water onto it, but if there is a lot of water, it does absorb and makes a squishy sound.  I don't know if this is because of the yoga mat portion, or it's the EVA portion of the sole.

Another thing you will notice is that the footbed is actually quite wide.  It isn't just narrow.  This actually works out for a lot of different foot types.  My middle daughter has wider feet, so her toes just spread with these, rather than get squished up.  For my other daughter with narrow feet, it fits fine too.  Because the yoga mat isn't slippery, her feet don't slide around in them.

I was curious to see how they held up over time, especially during active activity.  When there is friction, and there should be since the child's feet should rub against the mat, I was wonder if it would cause blisters or anything.  So far after a month, it hasn't happened.

The only thing I don't like about these fantastic sandals is that the bottoms are white, as are most Skechers shoes.  That means that they become back pretty easily.  This is ok if you don't turn the shoe upside down.

I don't know how this Goga Max technology compares against memory foam.  Thus far, the sandals that I have seen for girls are all Goga Mat or Goga Max.   Only sneakers have come in memory foam.
